KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia turned higher at mid-morning today on renewed buying support in selected heavyweight counters, dealers said.
At 11.06am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.05 points better at 1,872.88 points.
Gainers led losers 342 to 337 with 319 counters unchanged, 637 untraded and 13 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 696.85 million shares worth RM504.54 million.
Among actives, MAS eased half a sen to 22 sen, Mulpha International rose three sen to 53 sen, Berjaya Corp added one sen to 50.5 sen and Keladi Maju gained 3.5 sen to 41 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank was one sen lower at RM9.90, while Public Bank, TNB and Axiata fell two sen each to RM19.96, RM12.40 and RM6.87.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index declined 29.98 points to 17,361.82, the Plantation Index fell 9.82 points to 9,017.18, but the Industrial Index improved 6.92 points to 3,237.99.
The FBM Emas Index gained 7.8 points to 13,081.65, the FBMT100 Index advanced 7.35 points to 12,659.68, the FBM Ace added 25.06 points to 7,079.81 and the FBM 70 jumped 9.31 points to 14,376.55. — Bernama
