KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained higher mid-morning on continued buying interest in selected heavyweight counters, dealers said.
At 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.49 points better at 1,870.13 points.
Losers led gainers 307 to 312 with 322 counters unchanged, 693 untraded and 21 otherS were suspended.
Turnover stood at 761.52 million shares worth RM496.38 million.
Among actives, Sumatec slipped 1.5 sen to 40.5 sen, Minetech eased half-a-sen to 14.5 sen, Malaysia Airlines earned half-a-sen to 20.5 sen and Zelan added one sen to 30.5 sen.
Of heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM9.91, Public Bank dipped 12 sen to RM20, TNB rose eight sen to RM12.38 and Axiata went up one sen to RM6.88.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index declined 43.54 points to 17,399.94, the Plantation Index fell 4.24 points to 9,001.65 but the Industrial Index improved 133 points to 3,213.55.
The FBM Emas Index gained 4.86 points to 13,046.76, the FBMT100 Index advanced 7.0 points to 12,633.11 but the FBM Ace shed 2.92 points to 6,910.88 and the FBM 70 lost 4.02 points to 14,318.57. — Bernama
