KL shares turn mixed mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia turned mixed at mid-morning today in line with other Asian bourses, dealers said.

At 11 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.63 points higher at 1,884.78 after opening 0.62 of a point better at 1,883.77.

However, market breadth was negative as losers led gainers 312 to 271 with 291 counters unchanged, 1,636 untraded and 20 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 933.28 million shares worth RM562.4 million.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index increased 43.58 points to 17,514.15, but the Plantation Index dipped 41.57 points to 9,120.5, and the Industrial Index declined 11.83 points to 3,231.98.

The FBM Emas Index gained 5.46 points for 13,122.8, the FBMT100 Index increased 4.69 points to 12,726.82, the FBM Ace rose 22.99 points to 6,777.32 and the FBM 70 slipped 19.1 points to 14,404.66.

Among actives, Sumatec Resources added four sen for 41.5 sen, Dagang Nexchange fell half a sen to 31.5 sen and Mexter rose half a sen to 13 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM10.00, Public Bank rose six sen to RM20.14 and Tenaga lost six sen to RM12.48. — Bernama
