KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained mixed at mid-day today amid profit taking and ahead of the Nuzul Quran holiday tomorrow, dealers said.
At 12.30pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.54 of a point higher at 1,883.69 after opening 0.62 of a point better at 1,883.77.
Market breadth was negative as losers led gainers 384 to 297 with 345 counters unchanged and 20 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.37 billion shares worth RM907.35 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index increased 41.48 points to 17,512.05, but the Plantation Index dipped 42.681 points to 9,119.39, and the Industrial Index declined 13.88 points to 3,229.93.
The FBM Emas Index gained 0.3 of a point for 13,117.64, the FBMT100 Index decreased 1.6 points to 12,720.53, the FBM Ace rose 13.34 points to 6,767.67 and the FBM 70 slipped 22.109 points to 14,401.65.
Among actives, Sumatec Resources added 4.5 sen to 42 sen, Dagang Nexchange fell two sen to 30 sen and JAKS gained two sen for 80 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM10.00, Public Bank rose six sen to RM20.14 and Tenaga lost six sen to RM12.48. — Bernama
