KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 ― Shares prices on Bursa Malaysia turned slightly lower at mid-morning today on mild profit taking in selected heavyweights, dealers said.
As at 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,880.34, down 1.14 points, after opening 3.74 points better at 1,885.22.
On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index shed 4.98 points to 3,213.2, the Finance Index slipped 37.37 points to 17,2229.85 and the Plantation Index fell 13.56 points to 9,214.09.
The FBM Emas Index was 5.21 points lower at 13,024.78, the FBMT100 Index declined 5.69 points to 12,655.01, but the FBM 70 improved 1.71 points to 14,162.82 and the FBM Ace gained 15.06 points to 6,809.25.
Market breath was negative as losers led gainers 307 to 280, while 292 counters were unchanged, 750 untraded and 17 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 5.42 million shares worth RM405.61 million.
Among actives, Malaysia Airlines eased one sen to 22.5 sen, 1Utopia was flat at six sen, Infortech earned half a sen to 38.5 sen while SapuraKencana rose nine sen to RM4.42.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank was one sen lower at RM9.80, Public Bank lost 12 sen to RM20.24, TNB rose two sen to RM11.84 while CIMB was flat at RM7.30. ― Bernama
