KL shares remain mixed mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained mixed mid-morning as losses in selected heavyweights limited gains, dealer said.

At 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,871.14, down 0.44 of a point, after opening 2.52 points higher at 1,874.1.

On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index added 1.56 points to 3,198.12, but the Finance Index slipped 8.72 points to 17,136.42 and the Plantation Index fell 8.47 points to 9,179.78.

The FBM Emas Index was 2.03 points lower at 12,948.47, the FBMT100 Index erased 1.01 points to 12,585.05, the FBM 70 rose 2.72 points to 14,048.92 and the FBM Ace gained 47.91 points to 6,702.8.

Losers led gainers 288 to 277 while 316 counters were unchanged, 748 untraded and 16 others were suspended.

Turnover stood at 555.98 million shares worth RM376.81 million.

Among actives, Malaysia Airline, China Stationery and Iris Corp earned half-a-sen each to 21.5 sen, 12.5 sen and 43 sen, respectively, while Takaso Resources added one sen to 26.5 sen.

Of heavyweights, both Maybank and CIMB dipped one sen to RM9.81 and RM7.16, respectively, while Public Bank and TNB climbed two sen each to RM20.80 and RM11.72, respectively. — Bernama
