SINGAPORE, May 29 — Singtel is launching a new portal to give its customers more options to determine what type of information they do not wish to receive, or in what ways they do not wish their personal data to be used.
This portal will be launched by end July, the same month that the Personal Data Protection Act kicks in fully.
Customers can have more customised, opt-out options. For instance, they may choose to opt out of receiving promotional materials, but not being contacted for market research or satisfaction surveys.
Singtel’s CEO of Consumer Singapore Yuan Kuan Moon said having more options of opting out would allow customers to choose which services they needed, instead of a blanket opt-out for everything. — Today
