KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session lower in cautious trading in line with most of the Asian bourses, dealers said.
At the midday break, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 1.45 points to 1,858.98 points, after hovering between 1,853.31 and 1,861.61 points during the trading session.
Market breadth was slightly negative as losers led gainers 368 to 259, while 292 counters were unchanged, 697 untraded and 17 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 799.15 million shares worth RM813.34 million.
On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index dipped 7.49 points to 3,167.37 points, but the Plantation Index rose 11.36 points to 9,071.88 points and the Finance Index slipped 6.23 points to 16,943.5 points.
The FBM 70 was down 26.05 points to 14,005.89 points, the FBM Emas Index lost 13.45 points to 12,859.28 points, the FBMT100 Index shed 12.74 points to 12,512.09 points but the FBM Ace gained 10.65 points to 6,505.54 points.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank and CIMB eased 2.0 sen each to RM9.79 and RM7.33, respectively, while TNB was flat at RM11.92, and Public Bank added 18 sen to RM20.02.
Among actives, PDZ Holdings and Nexgram earned half-a-sen each to 16.5 sen and 12 sen, respectively, Symphony increased 3.0 sen to 26.5 sen and Mitrajaya was 4.0 sen higher at 81.5 sen. — Bernama
