Bursa Malaysia shares remain higher at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-morning today amid some selling pressure, dealers said.

At 11 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was up 2.44 points at 1,858.19.

Top gainers, Syarikat Takaful rose 28 sen to RM12.78, Choo Bee Metal Industries increased 21 sen to RM2.47 and KLK gained 16 sen to RM23.72.

Stocks that declined included Petronas Dagangan which fell 32 sen to RM30.18, UMW slipping 16 sen to RM11.02, and Aeon Credit sliding 12 sen to RM14.38.

Among actives, PDZ Holdings rose half a sen to 14.5 sen, Infortech dipped one sen to 29.5 sen, and Destini-Wa increased two sen to 20.5 sen.

As for the heavyweights, Maybank rose four sen to RM9.76, Tenaga was flat at RM11.90 and CIMB gained one sen to RM7.45.

The gainer-to-loser ratio was 387 to 239, while 307 counters were unchanged, 684 untraded and 14 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 740.22 million shares worth RM543.17 million.  

On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index rose 1.37 points to 3,197.93, the Plantation Index added 21.2 points to 8,964.76 and the Finance Index increased 38.639 points to 16,934.44.

The FBM Emas Index advanced 26.16 points to 12,883.49, the FBMT100 Index gained 23.15 points for 12,527.86, the FBM 70 jumped 52.25 points to 14,106.05 and the FBM Ace improved 0.04 of a point to 6,793.41. ― Bernama
