KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar today on continuous institutional demand for the local unit, said a dealer.
At 5pm, the ringgit was traded at 3.2605/2625 against the greenback compared with its close yesterday of 3.2640/2670.
A dealer attributed the ringgit’s gain to the positive sentiments towards export data to be released next week.
The ringgit traded mostly lower against other currencies. It fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5900/5926 from 2.5886/5927 yesterday, weakened against the euro to 4.4979/5009 from 4.4873/4918, and lower against the British pound at 5.4281/4318 from 5.4271/4333.
It rose against the yen to 3.1556/1591 from 3.1643/1688. — Bernama
