Takaful Malaysia pays out RM30m cash back for general insurance product

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd (Takaful Malaysia) made a record cash back payout of RM30 million to its general takaful customers who did not make any claims during the coverage period.

The cash back payout was 7.5 per cent higher compared to the amount paid out in the previous financial year.

Group Managing Director Datuk Mohamed Hassan Kamil said Takaful Malaysia was the first and only takaful operator in the country to consistently reward its customers with cash back for its general takaful products.

“This is our most unique proposition that clearly distinguishes us from any other competitors in the local industry, be it the takaful operators or the conventional insurance providers,” he said in a statement today.

He said over the last five years, a total of RM137 million had been paid as  cash back to valued customers and partners. The 15 per cent cash back plan was clearly separate from the No Claim Bonus or Discount (NCB/NCD) benefit and with the upcoming hike in motor tariff premiums, the privilege definitely comes in handy to all vehicle owners, said Mohamed Hassan.

Takaful Malaysia had also offered additional five per cent cash back for non-motor products last year totalling to 20 per cent for those who did not make any claims during the coverage period.

Taking into account the company’s robust financial growth, the offer would be extended this year for all certificates expiring in 2014, he added. — Bernama
