KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session today on a weaker note today, amid mixed performances by regional bourses, dealers said.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped 5.62 points to 1,820.02, after hovering between 1,818.73 and 1,828.72, throughout the morning session.
A dealer said the FBM KLCI was dampened by profit-taking in most heavyweight stocks.
CIMB and DiGi led the top contributors in pulling down the benchmark index, losing nine sen and five sen each to RM7.10 and RM5.10 respectively.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index shed 55.98 points to 16,572.44, the Plantation Index lost 28.51 points to 8,573.08, and the Industrial Index dipped 2.71 points to 3,101.06.
The FBM Emas Index slid 32.32 points to 12,578.18, with the FBMT100 Index falling 35.01 points to 12,270.93, and the FBM 70 declining 28.26 points to 13,818.3, with the FBM Ace easing 28.15 points to 6,228.96.
Losers led gainers by 410 to 272, with 288 counters unchanged, 637 untraded and 19 others suspended.
Turnover totalled 1.53 billion shares worth RM901.33 million.
Among actives, SCH Group added 6.5 sen to 29.5 sen, Luster Industries earned half-a-sen for 10 sen, Astral Supreme rose one sen to 22 sen, while PDZ Holdings was flat at 15.5 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank dipped three sen to RM9.77, TNB fell two sen to RM11.84, while Axiata grew one sen to RM6.56 and Sime Darby improved four sen for RM9.12. — Bernama
