KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 — Bursa Malaysia was higher at mid-morning today, in line with its regional peers, dealers said.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) sustained its above 1,800-point level.
At 11am, the benchmark index FBM KLCI rose 4.75 points to 1,820.89 points. It opened 0.26 point lower at 1,815.88.
A dealer said gains by most heavyweights helped sustain the positive market performance.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index went up 31.24 points to 16,660.59, Industrial Index added 5.06 points to 3,091.22 and the Plantation Index rose 29.95 points to 8,459.82.
The FBM Emas Index improved 28.06 points to 12,566.44, FBMT100 Index moved up 27.2 points to 12,267.45 and the FBM 70 increased 61.0 points to 13,761.6.
The FBM Ace, however, declined 19.28 points to 6,131.43.
The positive market breadth saw gainers outpacing losers by 296 to 278, while 288 counters were unchanged, 731 untraded and 17 others suspended.
Turnover totalled 775.38 million shares worth RM485.23 million.
Among actives, Minetech Resources and KNM Group advanced three sen each to 32.5 sen and 72.5 sen respectively, Managepay Systems added two sen to 22 sen and Nextnation Communication rose a sen to 10 sen.
For heavyweights, Maybank rose three sen to RM9.85, TNB advanced four sen to RM11.84, CIMB gained six sen to RM7.21 and Axiata Group added five sen to RM6.55. — Bernama
