KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-afternoon today, aided by year-end window dressing activities, dealers said.
At 3.03pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,861.31, up 0.25 of a point, after hovering between 1,862.33 and 1,867.67.
Market breath was positive as advancers led decliners 350 to 338, with 295 counters unchanged, 578 untraded and 33 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 837.37 million shares worth RM622.76 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index slipped 5.84 points to 16,895.06, the Industrial Index rose 23.36 points to 3,179.52, and the Plantation Index gained 60.73 points for 8,941.95.
The FBM Emas Index declined 2.64 points to 12,813.19, while the FBMT100 Index dipped 4.74 points to 12,547.58, with the FBM Ace falling 6.34 points to 5,616.52, and the FBM 70 losing 30.94 points for 14,120.35.
Among actives, The Media Shoppe added half-a-sen to 7.5 sen, with Hubline and Globaltec flat at 5.5 sen and 5.5 sen, respectively.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank slipped one sen to RM9.94, Tenaga declined 14 sen to RM11.46 and Axiata lost one sen to RM6.89. — Bernama
