KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) continued its bullish performance at mid-afternoon today boosted by persistent buying interest, dealers said.
At 3pm, the FBM KLCI was 4.12 points higher at 1,845.99.
Market breadth remained negative with decliners leading advancers 348 to 315 with 318 counters unchanged, 581 untraded and 19 others suspended.
Volume transacted amounted to 864.187 million shares valued at RM1.021 billion.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 17.35 points to 16,893.13, the Plantation Index surged 25.96 points to 9,083.96 and the Industrial Index added 13.31 points to 3,139.81.
The FBMT100 Index gained 19.57 points to 12,475.51, the FBM Emas Index increased 19.91 points to 12,742.38, the FBM Ace garnered 34.81 points to 5,638.64 while the FBM 70 fell 12.03 points to 14,164.3.
Among actives, Sumatec Resources added one sen to 29.5 sen, Barakah Offshore gained nine sen to RM1.49 and Malaysian Airline System was flat at 31 sen.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank improved seven sen to RM10.02, CIMB added one sen to RM7.71 while Tenaga Nasional slipped two sen to RM11. — Bernama
