KL shares turn mix at mid-day

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia turned mixed on mild selling pressure after its recent gains amid losses in regional markets, dealers said.

At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM LCI) rose 3.52 points to 1,825.42, surpassing the all-time high of 1,824.29 on Tuesday.

Market breath was negative as losers led gainers 290 to 261, with 316 counters unchanged, 699 untraded and 29 others were suspended.   

Turnover stood at 563.68 million shares valued at RM662.69 million.

Dealers said regional stocks began their decline after strong US economic data raised uncertainty over when the US Federal Reserve may taper its stimulus programme. — Bernama
