KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia which opened at a record high today retreated to 1,827.36 at mid-afternoon on profit taking in moderate trading activity.
At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained in positive territory and was 9.21 points better.
Losers led gainers by 401 to 282, with 309 counters unchanged, 574 untraded and 20 others suspended.
Volume transacted amounted to 739.73 million shares valued at RM1.07 billion.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index improved 11.04 points to 16,712.45, the Plantation Index rose 3.1 points to 8,862.65 while the Industrial Index was 21.24 points lower at 3,152.84.
The FBM Emas Index increased 50.65 points to 12,648.03, the FBMT100 Index advanced 55.26 points to 12,384.98, the FBM 70 garnered 41.97 points to 14,215.88 while the FBM Ace lost 29.45 points to 5,533.81.
Top gainer Tenaga Nasional was one of the most active stocks today and its share price rose RM1.17 to RM11.06, following the tariff review
Among other actives, DSC Solutions shed 7.5 sen to 15.5 sen and lost half a sen to 28 sen.
As for heavyweights, CIMB rose six sen to RM7.61 while Maybank lost one sen to RM9.81 and Sime Darby dwindled seven sen to RM9.58. — Bernama
