KL shares turn lower at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia were slightly lower at mid-morning today on losses in selected heavyweights.

At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.77 of a point lower at 1,797.36.

Losers led gainers 343 to 194, with 269 counters unchanged, 787 untraded and 48 others suspended.   

Volume stood at 581.08 million shares worth RM577.62 million.

Petronas Dagangan shed 48 sen to RM30.56 with 89,800 shares traded, RHB Capital lost 18 sen to RM7.67 with 141,200 shares transacted and Tenaga Nasional lost 12 sen to RM9.73 with 2.28 million shares done.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index lost 38.47 points to 16,558.18, the Plantation Index was 0.95 of a point lower at 8,785.42, while the Industrial Index rose 8.06 points to 3,123.21.

The FBM Emas Index fell 6.1 points to 12,495.77, the FBMT100 Index eased 4.21 points to 12,219.18, the FBM Ace dipped 28.22 points to 5,637.56 and the FBM 70 was 0.69 of a point lower at 14,172.23.

Newly-listed Titijaya, which remained the most actively traded stock, surged 21 sen or 14 per sen to RM1.71, with 58.09 million shares transacted.

For other actives, Sumatec rose half sen to 31 sen, while AT Systematization gave up 1.5 sen for 14 sen.

For the heavyweights, Maybank remained unchanged at RM9.59, CIMB eased three sen to RM7.60 and Sime Darby improved three sen for RM9.66. — Bernama
