KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia remained in the red at the end of the morning session today on the lack of buying momentum.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) declined 6.82 points to 1,791.87, after hovering between 1,790.94 and 1,797.89 throughout the morning session.
Losers hammered gainers 436 to 184, with 313 counters unchanged, 667 untraded and 16 others suspended. Turnover was at 1.512 billion shares valued at RM938.43 million.
The Finance Index fell 18.94 points to 16,391.61, the Plantation Index 33.31 points to 8,796.53 and the Industrial Index 23.93 points at 3,114.16.
The FBM Emas Index dipped 49.75 points to 12,470.03, the FBMT100 Index 47.52 points to 12,198.45, the FBM Ace 19.77 points to 5,597.73, and the FBM 70 60.08 points to 14,216.3.
Among actives, Takaso, 1 Utopia and Instacom edged up 0.5 sen each to 29.5 sen, 8.5 sen and 26 sen respectively. Patimas Computers was flat at 1 sen while Sumatec Resources eased 7 sen to 27 sen.
Heavyweight Maybank rose 5 sen to RM9.61 and TNB added 1 sen to RM9.52. Sime Darby dipped 17 sen to RM9.52 while Axiata and CIMB both fell 2 sen to RM6.71 and RM7.38 respectively. — Bernama
