KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session lower today in lacklustre trading, brought on by losses in selected heavyweights.
At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dipped 2.07 points to 1,813.58, after fluctuating between 1,813.06 and 1,818.89 in the session.
Gainers edged losers 334 to 332, with 326 counters unchanged, 634 untraded and 59 others suspended.
Volume stood at 1.01 billion shares worth RM771.48 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index slipped 21.24 points to 16,723.54, and the Industrial Index lost 4.48 points to 3,137.33.
The Plantation Index gained 8.3 points to 8,557.63.
The FBM Emas Index lost 13.18 points to 12,601.55, the FBMT100 Index declined 14.65 points to 12,325.97 and the FBM 70 was 19.44 points lower at 14,281.34. The FBM Ace Index fell 8.11 points to 5,721.22.
Among actives, Daya Materials gained one sen to 37.5 sen, Xidelang Holdings inched up half-a-sen to 40 sen, while Sona Petroleum warrants was flat at 26.5 sen.
AT Systematization went down five sen to 25.5 sen and MQ Technology edged down one sen to 18.5 sen.
Of the heavyweights, TNB added two sen to RM9.38, Sime Darby earned one sen to RM9.57 while Maybank and Axiata were flat at RM9.81 and RM6.89, respectively.
CIMB declined two sen to RM7.58 and Maxis lost one sen to RM7.19. — Bernama
