KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — Petronas was ranked fifth highest in the overall index for corporate reporting for emerging market companies in a study by Transparency International (TI), a global corruption watchdog.

In the recent study entitled “Transparency in Corporate Reporting: Assessing Emerging Market Multinationals”, Petronas achieved the highest score in the Best Unlisted Companies category, Petronas said in a statement.

In line with its zero-tolerance policy on corruption and bribery, Petronas today held a half-day forum to discuss, gain insights and share perspectives on the best practices in integrity with various industry leaders, government bodies and anti-corruption agencies.

Petronas Corporate Integrity Advocacy Programme, with themed “Designing Corruption out of the Business Eco-system”, was organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Malaysian Institute of Integrity.

The forum was also held in conjunction with the upcoming annual National Integrity Day that falls on November 5, 2013.

The programme was attended by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, Petronas Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan and Petronas President and Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Shamsul Azhar Abbas. — Bernama
