KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Bursa Malaysia was easier at mid-afternoon today on continued profit-taking in most blue-chips, dealers said.
At 3.05pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 9.27 points lower at 1,718.31.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index declined 82.54 points to 16,123.63, Industrial Index eased 15.15 points to 2,894.67 and the Plantation Index shed 42.29 points to 8,160.78.
The FBM Emas went down 71.54 points to 11,897.04, FBMT100 depreciated 67.16 points to 11,662.07, the FBM 70 Index erased 94.91 points to 13,444.62 and the FBM ACE Index dipped 38.14 points to 4,891.67.
Decliners overwhelmed advancers 492 to 173, with 216 counters unchanged, 688 untraded and 14 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 669.27 million shares worth RM551.05 million.
Among actives, Compugates Holdings, Pesona Metro, Land&General and Asia Media fell half-a-sen each to 5.5 sen, 45 sen, 4.5 and 11.5 sen, respectively.
Among heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM10, Axiata lost eight sen to RM6.66 and CIMB declined four sen to RM7.24.
Sime Darby, however, added four sen to RM9.43. — Bernama
