KLCI futures opens lower dragged by weaker cash market

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened lower in sync with the weaker underlying cash market, dealers said.
At 9.27am, spot month August 2013 eased 7.5 points to 1,711.5, September 2013 fell eight points to 1,702.5, December 2013 lost 10 points to 1,698 while March 2014 was flat at 1,708.5.
Turnover stood at 5,921 lots while open interest totalled 43,298 contracts.
The underlying FBM KLCI was 6.97 points lower at 1,715.52 after 27 minutes of trading. – Bernama
