SINGAPORE, Aug 19 — IMCD Group B.V. has acquired Singapore-based Paceco Industrial Supplies Pte Ltd, a distributor for engineering and speciality plastics.
In a statement today, IMCD said Paceco, established in 1985, is active in Singapore, China and Malaysia and currently employs 28 staff who will all be transferred to IMCD.
George Chong, one of the company’s two founders, will remain the Managing Director, it said.
Albert Stevens, Vice President Asia for IMCD Group, said the acquisition demonstrated the importance of China and South-East Asia in its growth and development strategy.
“Paceco has built up its business through focus on specialities thus
creating a strong network and gaining considerable industry experience.
“This new deal will greatly complement our plastics business in China and will provide a platform for further expansion in South East Asia,” he said.
Chong said the company’s sales and marketing personnel worked closely with the customers’ research and development and product design engineers on the material selection for new requirements or material replacements to achieve an optimum balance between cost and performance.
“We are confident that by joining forces with such a reputable international player we will significantly enhance our growth opportunities,” he said.
Paceco offers a wide range of engineering and speciality plastic materials to industries including electronics, electricals, connectors, electronic packaging, food packaging, medical device, home appliances, consumer goods, toys, building, wire & cable, automotive, aerospace and military. – Bernama
