The proposed disposal is aimed at merging and streamlining UEM Group’s asset and facility management business under the Faber Group, the company said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia.
It said the proposed merger would enable FGB to diversify its asset and facility management business which was currently focused on the healthcare sector.
Upon completion, FGB will be transformed into a total asset and facility management company with expertise and presence in the healthcare, infrastructure and commecial sectors.
The statement also said the proposed merger would not only enable FGB to cement its position as the largest asset and facility management company in Malaysia but also create a larger global presence through the acquisition of the Opus Group whose business spans across New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. — Bernama
