KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia continued their uptrend mid-afternoon with gains mostly seen in blue chips, dealers said.
At 3.05pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,785.72, up 3.21 points, after hovering between 1,781.61 and 1,786.44.
The Finance Index chalked up 93.36 points to 16,938.65, the Plantation Index was 5.48 points higher at 8,353.93 and the Industrial Index added 7.13 points to 3,023.69.
The FBM Emas Index rose 28.24 points to 12,432.82, the FBM70 Index earned 49.87 points to 14,274.96, the FBMT100 Index gained 26.46 points to 12,176.80 and the FBM Ace Index surged 69.35 points to 5,146.72.
Losers led gainers 326 to 323, with 252 counters unchanged, 675 untraded and 12 others were suspended.
Volume stood at 1.062 million shares worth RM832.593 million.
Among actives, Iris Corp and Daya Materials were both up 3.5 sen each to 24 sen and 31 sen, respectively, Sona Petroleum added two sen to 43 sen and Ingenuity Consolidated inched up half-a-sen to 8.5 sen.
Heavyweights, Maybank rose four sen to RM10.36, CIMB earned six sen to RM7.90, Axiata was flat at RM6.83 while Sime Darby and Maxis fell one sen each to RM9.50 and RM7.08, respectively.
Top gainers, Dutch Lady jumped 48 sen to RM46.80, Pintaras Jaya advanced 34 sen to RM5.77, BIMB Holdings increased 33 sen to RM4.65 and Petronas Dagangan was up 30 sen at RM26.74. — Bernama
