KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 — Bursa Malaysia turned higher at mid-morning trading on buying support from blue chip stocks, dealers said.
At 11.03am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 2.38 points to 1,810.8, after moving between 1,805 and 1,811.65.
The Industrial Index gained 10.81 points to 3,081.62, the Plantation Index garnered 8.31 points to 8,420.51 and the Finance Index advanced 14.39 points to 17,389.24.The FBM Emas Index rose 12.74 points to 12,618.2, the FBMT 100 Index advanced 14.45 points to 12,357.2 and the FBM 70 Index went up 9.72 points to 14,524.16 and the FBM ACE Index appreciated 27.31 points to 5,074.89.
Losers slightly outpaced gainers by 283 to 235, with 282 counters unchanged, 799 untraded and 19 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 376.32 million shares worth RM352.98 million.
Among actives, Luster Industries and Minetech Resources each added half-a-sen to 10.5 sen and 17.5 sen respectively, Astral Supreme was flat at 21 sen and Tanjung Offshore increased 2.5 sen to 68 sen.
On heavyweights, CIMB and Sime Darby each fell one sen to RM8.55 and RM9.53, respectively, Maybank eased two sen to RM10.70, while Axiata Group earned one sen to RM6.84. — Bernama
