KLCI futures trades higher mid-day

KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives was higher mid-day in tandem with the firmer cash market, dealers said.

At mid-day break, spot month July 2013 was 5.5 points higher at 1,790, August 2013 added 4.5 points to 1,790.5, September 2013 improved 3.5 points to 1,788.5 and December 2013 earned eight points to 1795.

Turnover stood at 2,568 lots while open interest totalled 37,668 contracts.

The underlying FBM KLCI rose 0.41 of a point to 1,787.08, after opening 1.13 points easier at 1,785.54. – Bernama
