KL shares remain higher at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 — Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-morning today boosted by persistent buying support, especially in blue chips, dealers said.

At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,767.78, up 4.91 points after opening 4.15 points better at 1,767.02.

Market breadth was positive, with 323 gainers, 169 losers, 278 counters unchanged, 806 untraded and 16 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 503.32 million shares worth RM425.18 million.

On the scoreboard, the Plantation Index lost 3.74 points to 8,369.93 and the Industrial Index added 1.49 points to 2,988.29. – Bernama
