Hong Kong stocks sharply lower at break

HONG KONG, Aug 22 — Hong Kong shares sank this morning as nervous investors await a key speech by Federal Reserve boss Jerome Powell at the end of the week.

The Hang Seng Index fell 0.87 per cent, or 229.06 points, to 26,040.98 by lunch. — AFP
