MELAKA, Nov 5 — The Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra) has allocated RM755,390 to 21 Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) in Melaka this year to enhance teaching and learning facilities.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the allocation covered various initiatives, including MADANI furniture assistance, tuition classes and digital learning tools such as smartboards.
“The programmes are implemented through collaboration between Mitra and the Education Ministry, as well as school administrators and boards of governors, to ensure students benefit from the assistance,” he said during a visit to SJKT Jasin Lalang in Ayer Merbau here today.
Ramanan said SJKT Jasin Lalang had received RM47,560 under the initiatives.
He said Mitra had also introduced various educational assistance programmes this year for Indian students at all levels, from preschool to public and private higher education institutions.
“Our approach covers the entire education ecosystem to ensure targeted groups receive assistance tailored to their needs at every stage of learning.
“These initiatives also focus on expanding access to technology and digitalisation in schools,” he added. — Bernama
