MELAKA, Nov 5 — The government has no objection to disclosing the contents of the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) signed between the Unity Government, Bersatu and independent Members of Parliament, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said there was no reason to keep the agreement confidential and that he would raise the matter with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who oversees the arrangement, at tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting for further action.

“I have no objection to making it public. In fact, the draft and principles are similar to the agreement between Pakatan Harapan and the previous government comprising PAS, Bersatu and Umno.

“It was their party (PAS) that proposed such an agreement in the first place, together with Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and several others in the government at the time.

“Yet they are now questioning it. It is rather strange when their own members have not read or thought about it,” he told reporters after officiating the Prime Minister’s Golden Hand Awards 2026 ceremony at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) here today.

Anwar was responding to PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan’s call for the government to disclose the contents of the agreement.

Asked about PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s description of the CSA as a “devilish approach”, Anwar said the remark was inappropriate.

“Tan Sri Hadi is a religious scholar, and his statements should be more measured. He tried to explain that his remarks were not directed at me, and that is fine, but it is inappropriate to label a person, group, or position as devilish.

“How is it that when they do it, it is not devilish, but when others do the same, it becomes devilish? I do not think religion should be used in that manner,” he said.

On October 29, the Madani Government signed a CSA with six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and seven others, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. — Bernama
