KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Police have received two reports concerning three incidents involving a woman accused of harassing visitors at a shopping mall here.

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin said the first report was lodged by the building manager at 7.59 pm yesterday following complaints that the woman had caused public disturbance.

The second report was lodged by the father of two children, who alleged that the woman had pushed and assaulted his children in an incident on the same day.

“The case is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Azwan said police viewed seriously any acts of violence, threats or harassment against members of the public, particularly those involving children’s safety.

He added that appropriate action would be taken against anyone found to have committed an offence.

Yesterday, police confirmed that they had detected a 35-second video circulating on social media showing an argument between two individuals at the shopping mall.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 3 pm when a 36-year-old man and his two children, aged two and seven, were approached by an unidentified woman.

The woman allegedly pushed the man’s son from behind, causing him to fall, and struck his daughter on the back of her head.

Ahmad Azwan urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2146 0522 or 03-2146 0585, the Dang Wangi District Police Control Centre at 03-2600 2222, or any nearby police station to assist in the investigation. — Bernama
