PETALING JAYA, Oct 26 — Bersatu’s supreme leadership council is set to meet tonight to finalise, among other matters, the party’s political cooperation plans ahead of the 16th Melaka state election.

As reported by Harian Metro, the meeting, chaired by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is understood to begin at 8pm at the party’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

Sources said the meeting is also expected to discuss Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) decision last night to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Bersatu over allegations that it had acted contrary to the coalition’s interests.

Bersatu has recently been linked to a possible electoral cooperation pact with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the Melaka polls. Both sides are understood to have held discussions, with PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari tasked with exploring the prospects of such an arrangement.

No official announcement has been made, however.
