REMBAU, Oct 19 — The Balai Undang Luak Rembau today faced another attempt at eviction when several senior government officials arrived to reclaim possession of the premises.

The effort was not carried through after discussions between the parties concluded with agreement that any eviction must follow proper legal process and be backed by a clear court order, as reported by Kosmo! Online.

Lawyer representing the Balai Undang Luak Rembau, Emirul Sarifudin Nor Azmi, said those present included the director of the Land and Mines Office (PTG), the Rembau district officer, the district police chief and several other department heads.

“On this day, we were informed that the other side came to enter and take back possession of the Balai Undang Luak Rembau. “However, after discussions, all parties agreed that any action must be based on the law and respect the institution of the monarchy,” he told Kosmo! Online here today.

Emirul Sarifudin said following the talks, the authorities would file a fresh application in court under the name of the PTG director to obtain a vacant possession order for the building.

“After the agreement was reached, all parties dispersed without any eviction being carried out,” he was quoted as saying.
