SEREMBAN, Oct 10 — The provision of better infrastructure facilities is expected to enhance Negeri Sembilan’s attractiveness as an investment destination, in line with the ongoing development of Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0).
Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said the construction of a new road from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Bandar Enstek was among the key infrastructure facilities that would support development in the area, while facilitating movement and improving accessibility.
“Alhamdulillah, Negeri Sembilan is not being left behind in benefiting from Budget 2027 announced yesterday. Among the initiatives are a new road from KLIA to Bandar Enstek, as well as the upgrading of Jalan Pajam-Nilai-Salak. The new road will also complement the development of MVV 2.0.
“This is significant and a good selling point for the state government, while giving Negeri Sembilan an advantage in attracting more investors,” he told reporters after the close of the Negeri Sembilan Malaysia Property Expo (Mapex) today, which was also attended by state Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) chairman Datuk Hoo Kim See.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling Budget 2027, said the Madani government would complete the development of MVV 2.0 with infrastructure projects including the new KLIA-Bandar Enstek road, the upgrading of Jalan Pajam-Nilai-Salak and the implementation of the Klang Valley Dual Track 2 project.
Meanwhile, Ismail said the construction of the Rembau Integrated Health Complex would also benefit the state by expanding healthcare facilities for the public, particularly as several existing hospitals in Negeri Sembilan were facing problems, including a shortage of beds.
He said the facility was important to increase the state’s healthcare service capacity and complement the government’s efforts to improve healthcare facilities to meet the needs of a growing population.
He also expressed hope that initiatives announced under Budget 2027 would be implemented according to schedule to ensure the people could enjoy the intended benefits as planned.
Ismail said smooth implementation within the stipulated timeframe was crucial, as delays or problems with project execution could prompt complaints from the public, who had high expectations following the government’s announcements.
“What matters is not just the announcement of expenditure, but also how it is implemented. Sometimes, we announce a lot, but implementation gets held up and does not proceed on time. This will create problems for the people who have placed their hopes in these announcements,” he said.
He said the state government would continue to facilitate and cooperate through the relevant departments to ensure the projects could be implemented smoothly, allowing the people to benefit within the stipulated timeframe. — Bernama
