KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — The Health Ministry will receive RM47.7 billion next year, up from this year’s RM46.5 billion, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.

While tabling Budget 2027 at the Dewan Rakyat today, Anwar said RM1.2 billion will be distributed for repair, upgrade and maintenance works of all public hospitals and clinics.

A total of nine new facilities, including a specialist clinic complex and daycare treatment centre at Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor, will also be constructed next year, Anwar said.

“More than RM770 million will also be allocated for the procurement of modern and sophisticated equipment to speed up diagnosis and treatment,” Anwar said.

The new assets, he said, would include haemodialysis facilities in hospitals nationwide, 400 new government ambulances, a specialist hospital under Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with robotic surgery expertise as well as clinical simulation equipment and science laboratories in 18 training institutes.

Anwar also announced a RM200 million allocation for outsourcing of patients to other hospitals to reduce waiting period.
