KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Lembaga Tabung Haji’s (TH) new and existing investments have shown positive results following the transformation and strengthening of governance processes, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

This development is reflected, among other things, in TH recording its highest investment income in history, he said.

“We have recorded the highest profit in the history of TH since last year. This demonstrates the success of new and existing investments.

“The transformation carried out has also further strengthened governance,” he said during Dewan Rakyat’s oral question-and-answer session today.

He was responding to Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PN-Besut), who asked the Prime Minister to outline the government’s strategy for diversifying TH’s new investment portfolio and strengthening its risk management framework to ensure the sustainability of the institution’s funds.

Zulkifli said TH has a systematic investment process, which includes assessing investment, risk and shariah aspects before making any investment decision.

“TH has implemented a prudent, shariah-compliant investment strategy guided by the strategic asset allocation (SAA) framework to ensure that its investment portfolio has an appropriate level of diversification across asset classes, sectors and markets.

“The SAA is reviewed every three years to ensure that TH’s investment strategy and risk management take into account current factors affecting the changing dynamics of the economic environment and capital markets,” he said.

For the 2025 financial year, TH’s investment income rose to RM4.64 billion, the highest level recorded. Total assets were RM98.58 billion versus liabilities of RM95.63 billion.

The profit distribution rate also increased progressively from 1.25 per cent in 2018 to 3.50 per cent in 2025, the highest in eight years. — Bernama
