ALOR GAJAH, Sept 27 — Two men, aged 57 and 38, were found dead in separate incidents in Alor Gajah today.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar said police received a report regarding the discovery of a 57-year-old man at 11.30am in an abandoned shophouse in Cherana Putih, Taboh Naning.

He said the body believed to have been dead for two days was discovered by a member of the public in the area.

“A preliminary examination of the body revealed no signs of foul play, and the victim is believed to have been in the area without his family’s knowledge,” he told reporters here today.

In a related development, Ahmad said the second case involved a 38-year-old man found dead in an apartment unit in Simpang Ampat at approximately noon.

He said the victim was a factory worker who lived alone, was discovered by his fiancée after failing to answer phone calls since the previous night.

The fiancée entered the home through a window and found the victim unconscious before calling an ambulance.

“No signs of break-in or foul play were detected in either incident, and the cases have been classified as sudden death (SDR).

“Both bodies have been taken to Alor Gajah Hospital for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death,” he said. — Bernama
