Haze watch: Johor overtakes Sarawak on unhealthy air quality as Kota Tinggi hits 165, while Serian 152

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 — Six areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9 am today.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), four areas in Johor recorded the highest readings: Kota Tinggi (165), Pasir Gudang (163), Pengerang (162) and Larkin (156).

In Sarawak, Serian registered an API reading of 152, followed by Sri Aman at 128.

Another 52 areas were in the moderate category, while nine had good air quality.

API readings of between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and 301 and above as hazardous. — Bernama
