KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 — Fashion designer Datuk Rizalman Ibrahim says his adopted son, Umar Nail, is in stable condition but remains under close medical observation following internal injuries sustained in a road accident.
He said doctors are focusing on treating Umar’s liver injury, which is currently the main concern, according to Harian Metro.
Rizalman said, “Alhamdulillah, as of now, Umar is stable,” adding that his son “is still under close monitoring by the medical team, particularly for injuries to his internal organs, namely the liver.”
He said he accepts the ordeal as a test for his family and places full trust in God’s will.
Rizalman said he continues to pray for Umar’s strength and recovery as treatment progresses.
He expressed gratitude to family members, friends, social media followers, media practitioners and hospital staff for their continuous support during this difficult period.
He said every prayer and message of encouragement has been a source of strength for the family.
Rizalman urged the public to continue praying for Umar’s healing and for his treatment process to be eased.
He also shared a series of Instagram Story posts describing how the accident occurred.
He said Umar had stepped out briefly after helping him cut lopes and was walking along the pedestrian path at Wangsa Walk when he and an ice delivery lorry “collided from behind.”
He said Umar fell under the lorry and was dragged for several seconds, resulting in complications to his internal organs.
He added that members of the public at the scene immediately came forward to help.
