PUTRAJAYA, Aug 29 — A total of 2,354 members and officers of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have been assigned to ensure the highest level of security and smooth running of the 2026 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday.

Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed said the assignment involved static control and traffic control at strategic locations in the area where the annual event is being held.

“For the public, I advise them to come early to Dataran Putrajaya and comply with all the regulations of the authorities.

“This includes not parking vehicles in prohibited places, not blocking traffic, and at the same time, take care of your own safety, especially the safety of children and belongings,” he said.

He told reporters after the full rehearsal of the 2026 National Day celebration attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil here today.

Aidi Sham also reminded the public not to bring any dangerous weapons when attending the National Day celebration.

“Do not bring any dangerous weapons for the purpose of enlivening our National Day this year,” he said.

Earlier, Fahmi said the 2026 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31, will so far be held as usual,

Themed “Malaysia Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, the 69th National Day celebration will be held at Dataran Putrajaya with an expectation of more 80,000 visitors coming to witness the historic day. — Bernama
