PUTRAJAYA, Aug 29 — Members of the public who wish to attend the 2026 National Day Celebration at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31 are urged to take advantage of the free water transport facilities provided by the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) to facilitate movement to the celebration location.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the service not only provides convenience to the public, but also allows them to enjoy a relaxing and valuable travel experience with their families at Tasik Putrajaya.
“This year in conjunction with National Day on August 31, the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) is providing a free water taxi service starting at 5am until 2pm on August 31,” he told Bernama after reviewing the operational preparations for the service here today.
Fahmi who is also the chairman of the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day Celebration (HKHM) Main Committee, encouraged the public to plan their journey in advance by parking their vehicles at a location near the water transport terminal before continuing their journey using the facility to the celebration site.
“Make full use of this opportunity and I encourage you to plan your trip, you can park in places near the terminal and you can go to the site to watch the National Day parade comfortably while enjoying at Lake Putrajaya,” he said.
Based on PPj information, the free water transportation service covers the cruise taxi route between Marina Putrajaya and Anjung Floria as well as between Kelab Tasik Putrajaya and Monumen.
In addition, the water taxi service is also provided between Terra@8 and Monumen, with operations starting from 5am to 2pm on August 31.
The public is advised to refer to the travel schedule provided by PPj to check out the departure times of each route and plan their trips to the 2026 National Day Celebration in a more organised manner. — Bernama
