KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — Two children found dead with their parents at a Desa ParkCity home were killed by stab wounds to the neck, post-mortem examinations have confirmed.

Berita Harian reported that Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said their mother, 47, meanwhile, died from sharp-force trauma to the neck and chest.

The findings provide the clearest account yet of how three members of the family died, as police continue investigating whether a suspected love scam and debts totalling RM260,000 were linked to the killings.

Fadil said the post-mortem on the couple’s nine-year-old daughter was carried out at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine at Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday.

The examination began at 9am and ended at noon.

“The post-mortem found that the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck,” he said.

The mother’s post-mortem began at about 2pm and was completed at 7.30pm.

“The post-mortem found that the cause of death was sharp-force trauma to the neck and chest,” Fadil said.

The couple’s seven-year-old son was also examined yesterday, with the post-mortem running from 2pm to 5pm.

“The post-mortem found that the victim died from a stab wound to the neck,” he said.

Fadil said the post-mortem on the children’s father, 48, described by police as the suspect, would be carried out today after examinations at the scene were completed.

“The post-mortem is expected to begin at 2pm and be completed at about 6pm today.

“All four bodies have yet to be claimed and will only be claimed after the post-mortem on the suspect has been completed,” he said.

He added that forensic personnel from HKL and the Royal Malaysia Police were at the home to carry out further examinations.

Police are also investigating claims surrounding a note allegedly linked to a love scam, including losses and debts amounting to RM260,000.

Fadil said the matter remained under investigation, but added that the family was aware of the love-scam issue and that the wife was believed to have been drawn into an illegal investment scheme.

Yesterday, investigators said they were looking into whether pressure over the RM260,000 debt, after the wife allegedly fell victim to a love scam, could have been a motive for the man to kill his wife and two children before taking his own life.

The speculation followed the discovery of a note believed to have been left by the father on the dining table of the family’s Desa ParkCity home.
