KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — A former chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) is set to face a remand application today to assist in investigations following the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the pilgrimage fund.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is expected to file the application at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court at 9am, The Star reported.

This move comes after the establishment of a specialised MACC task force dedicated to examining the governance and management failures highlighted in the RCI.

The RCI report, which was made public via the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) portal on July 29, scrutinised several high-level issues regarding TH’s operations.

Its findings have since served as a impetus for the commission to launch multiple investigations into the fund's past dealings.

The former CEO is the latest high-profile individual to be swept up in the probe.

Earlier, the MACC detained seven other individuals to assist in the investigation, including a company CEO, two directors, and four former senior management personnel from Tabung Haji.
