PETALING JAYA, Aug 17 — A new chapter has begun in the storied Mahathir family, as Ally Mukhriz — daughter of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir — has given birth to her first child, a baby boy named Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah.

Born on Sunday morning at 8.48am, weighing 2.9kg, Eden is not only Ally and her husband Ezran Daud Cheah’s first child, but also the very first great grandchild of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

Ally, whose full name is Meera Alyanna Mukhriz, shared the joyful news on Threads: “Ezran and I are happy to announce the birth of our baby boy, Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah. Born 16.08.26 at 8.48am at 2.9kg. Thank you everyone for sending the well wishes and we hope to share more soon.”

Her mother, Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria, echoed the family’s delight in a heartfelt Instagram post: “Assalamualaikum. Praise be to Allah. Our hearts are overflowing with love as we proudly welcome our precious grandson into the family. Welcome to the world, little one! You are already so deeply loved.”
