SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — Flash floods have hit several areas in Puncak Alam following about an hour of heavy rain in the afternoon today, with about one foot of water recorded along Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam 6.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division asst director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said six firefighters from Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station conducted flood risk assessment in the area at 3.45pm, and found that the road was inundated in a foot of water, adding that no evacuation of residents was conducted.
Meanwhile, social media was abuzz with users sharing the flash flood situation in Puncak Alam, with Threads user dayangd_na sharing a video of conditions in a residential area and stating that flooding started following heavy rain of about an hour.
“It’s never flooded, now with just one hour of heavy rain, it rises up. I’m nervous because I’m worried about my car outside. Are others in Puncak Alam ok?” they posted.
Fellow Threats user _xmmmmmmmm shared a photo of flooding along Jalan Medan Puncak Alam, stating that he had to do a U-turn after several roads in the area were flooded.
“Info on flooded roads in Puncak Alam, guys. I’ve had to U-turn, just now towards Puncak Alam in front of the Ninso warehouse, left and right the roads are closed,” they posted.
Another Threads user akhrim_abs_official shared a video showing a flooded car sales centre along Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam. — Bernama
