KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail has urged all police officers to think critically, act swiftly and remain relevant amid changing times to meet the challenges of an increasingly dynamic policing landscape.

He said the ever-changing security landscape required continuous evolution, and officers should not become complacent with their current positions or achievements.

“Promotion is not the pinnacle of a career, but rather the starting point of far greater and more challenging responsibilities,” he said at the Police Senior Officers’ Rank Insignia and Honorary Rank Insignia Presentation Ceremony at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Bukit Aman here today.

Mohd Khalid said the rank held by an officer represented a trust placed by the people and the country, which must be shouldered with transparency, wisdom and sincerity to ensure peace and security were maintained.

A total of 29 senior police officers were honoured at the ceremony for their promotions to the ranks of Commissioner of Police (CP), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

The ceremony also saw honorary ranks conferred on three individuals, reflecting the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) strategy to build an extensive network of cooperation.

They were Datuk Dr Mohamed Sulaiman Sultan Suhaibuddeen, who received the Honorary ACP rank, while Aini Suraya Osman and Adila Abdullah were each conferred the Honorary Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank.  — Bernama
