SHAH ALAM, July 6 — A student injured in a stabbing incident at a secondary school in Banting, Kuala Langat, is in stable condition after receiving emergency treatment at Hospital Banting, the Selangor Health Department said today.

In a statement, the department said the student arrived at the hospital’s Emergency Department at 10.13am and was immediately attended to by the medical team.

“The victim was given emergency treatment without delay. The patient’s condition is currently stable and he or she remains under close observation while undergoing further assessment to ensure appropriate follow-up treatment,” the statement said.

The department said the case is being investigated by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and urged the public to refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information, advising them instead to rely on official channels for accurate updates.

Hospital Banting said it remains committed to providing the best possible care to the patient but would not disclose further details on the victim’s condition out of respect for patient confidentiality and the family’s privacy.

“The hospital will continue to provide its full cooperation to the authorities throughout the investigation,” the statement added.

Earlier today, the Selangor Education Department confirmed that the suspect is in police custody and said counselling teachers had been mobilised to provide psychosocial support and intervention for students, teachers and staff affected by the incident.

The department also said its immediate priority was ensuring the injured student received the best possible care while supporting the victim’s family.

Kuala Langat police have confirmed the stabbing incident, while investigations into the case are ongoing. Authorities have repeatedly appealed to the public not to circulate unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.
