PUTRAJAYA, May 29 — All Immigration Department (JIM) counters, including at Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs), will be closed on Monday (June 1) and Tuesday (June 2).

It said in a social media post that the counters will be closed on Monday in conjunction with the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Wesak Day on Tuesday.

“All counters will resume operations on Wednesday (June 3),” it added.

Earlier, the government agreed to grant public holidays in conjunction with Wesak Day and the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Human Resources, the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is one of the five mandatory paid holidays that private sector employers must grant workers in Peninsular Malaysia, including the Federal Territory of Labuan.

Meanwhile, the Wesak Day celebration, which falls on Sunday, entitles employees to a replacement holiday on Tuesday, in accordance with the current provisions in force. — Bernama
